THE ROUTE! Day Four!

Day Four, June 15th, sees me leaving Exmouth nice and early and heading west approximately 55 miles to the historic city of Plymouth

Massive thanks go out to The Rusty Anchor, 30 Grand Parade, Plymouth for kindly donating tonight’s accommodation at their Victorian Guest House! please visit http://www.therustyanchor-plymouth.co.uk/

The Rusty Anchor Guesthouse is perfectly situated on Plymouth Hoe’s west seafront, just a stroll away from all the major attractions including the Hoe itself, Plymouth city centre, theatre, Pavilions, National Marine Aquarium, cinema and historic Barbican.

Today sees 4584 feet of elevation, so another hilly day in store, lots to see on the way such as the Market Town of Newton Abbot, famous for the Brunel industrial estate, and the most westerly racecourse in England

One part of today’s ride Im mostly looking forward to is riding through Dartmoor National Park, the moorland is capped with many exposed granite hilltops known as Tors providing habitats for Dartmoor Wildlife, such as, Lizards, Adders, Skylarks and Snipes. The highest point is High Willhays at, 621 m (2,037 ft) above sea level, it will make a pleasant location for today’s lunch stop

Heading into Plymouth coming out of the National Park should be fairly pleasant, as the last 15 miles are pretty much all down hill! Yippee!!

Other places I will be riding through today include, Dartmoor Forrest and along the river Exe
